Notice of Public Information Meeting-Gulph Mill Road Stormwater Pump Station
Notice of Gulph Mill Road Stormwater Pump Station Information Meeting
The City of Somers Point has received a FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant for the design of a stormwater pump station in the Gulph Mill Drive area. The projects scope of work includes
- Surveying and Base Mapping. Detailed surveying and base mapping to assess elevations in the neighborhood, particularly stormwater sewer structures. This will help to determine crucial flooding vulnerabilities, pump sizing, wetland limits, and environmentally sensitive areas
- Schematic Design/H & H Study/Design Development/Permitting. This phase will include the development of concepts, design, and permitting to address flooding in a defined project area. The selected engineering consultant will develop design concepts, work with the municipality officials to select a design, and advance permitting to ensure that the project does not adversely affect natural resources and conforms to local, state, and federal regulation.
The project also requires community outreach hearings to present the design options seeking to gain input from residents, local officials, community members, and key stakeholders.
Public input on this project will be received during the regularly scheduled Environmental Commission Meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 6PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
